the lowell whiteman school is a 50 year-old independent college preporatory day and boarding school. it is located in a beautiful rocky mountain valley in the steamboat springs area, and contains more than a dozen buildings that have been built during its colorful history. ewers architecture was given the exciting opportunity to rework the master plan of the campus. we worked closely alongside administrators, teachers, parents and students to help unify the historic campus, while allowing it to retain its eclectic mountain charm.
the final design, shown in the following pages, includes: a new academic center, a new circulation system, two new dormitories, new faculty housing, increased energy efficiency for all buildings and a renewed street presence.
