the telluride mountain school is a fast growing independent school with montessory roots. to accomodate their student body, they purchased a ten year-old, 14,000 square foot building that formerly held the warehouse and offices of scott fly rods. we took cues from the school's emphasis on learning from nature to transform the space into an exciting learning environment. angled hallway walls are inspired by mountain canyons, translucent walls above the hall provide more daylighting to interior classrooms, and recycled and healthy interior products were used throughout.
